The jazz bar was great and we had an hour there before setting off to watch the football. And what a disaster that was. After a dreadful performance we lost 3-2 to Fulham. Not the end of the world but still leaves us needing 11 points from the remaining 7 games.
Before breakfast we did a bit of a repack before sending the cases off to Kyoto. Denis is suffering from a blister on his heel from yesterday’s walking and a hangover from yesterday’s Guinness so he decided that a lie in was probably a good idea.
Anna and I walked to the Tokyo SkyTree. Via the Matcha Crepe cafe. Matcha is the in thing at the moment apparently and is very green. Looks too much like mushy peas for my liking although actually Anna’s crepe was lovely.

We then bought a ‘fortune’ for 100Yen. We got a “regular fortune “, neither good nor bad. It said “your request will be ranted (sic)”. It didn’t say “and Liverpool will win the league” so I’m going to buy another one later.
After that we walked to the SkyTree. On the way we checked out the river cruises and the water buses but none of the timings worked for us.

We passed another cemetery, this one tiny compared with yesterday’s National Cemetery.

The SkyTree was impressive. I didn’t go up but Anna did

Later in afternoon we had a prebooked food and drink tour. The logistics and timings meant it wasn’t worth going back to the hotel so we decided to investigate the Tokyo Port Fish Market and the associated Tsukiji outdoor market.

It was busy but fun – we tried oysters first

And after a good luck round the outdoor market it was time to go for a quick drink, meet Denis and find our food tour guide
That’s due to last about 3 hours and may well be the last thing we do this evening as we have a train to catch tomorrow morning to Kyoto.
