Arsenal only managed a 1-1 draw against Everton, thus losing more points in the title race. Liverpool now need 11 points from their remaining 8 matches for victory. Today (well tonight Japan time) they play Fulham at Craven Cottage.

We had breakfast in the hotel and then I organised our luggage transfer to Kyoto. It is quite common in Japan to send your luggage on separately so that’s what we’ve done. We will be in Kyoto on Tuesday so tomorrow all our cases except one will be sent on ahead.
The hotel eating area/bar is a bit of a disappointment. Breakfast was ok, but not spectacular. The area is laid out like a cafe rather than a relaxing lounge, and shuts at 18.00. That leaves us with nowhere to relax and chat together over a drink. It is only for three nights though so I’m sure we will manage.
Today we had a whole day walking tour planned and we met our guide, Tomoko, at Reception at 09.00. Tomoko started by taking us to the rooftop viewing platform at the local tourist information centre, to get a view of Tokyo and in particular some of the nearby tourist attractions.

And then we were off. First stop – CHERRY BLOSSOM which we saw at Chidorigafuchi

This walk also took us past the National Cemetery (I love a good cemetery) and gave Denis a chance to rest while we looked around

We also took in the British Embassy. ……

……. before breaking for a coffee near the Shibuya Crossing
Sadly taking the weather took a turn for the worst so we retreated after that to the Kabukiza Gallery and Garden. As well as housing a theatre this building presents a celebration of the Japanese theatre culture of Kabuki and its history. This includes some beautiful artwork

In the evening we ate at a Kobe beef restaurant….. excellent food but not cheap

We then plan to go to a jazz bar before trying to find a bar to watch the match.
Let’s see how we get on
